Auditions
The first day of auditions went well, in that I was very happy with all who auditioned. The only disappointing part was that only a handful of folks showed up specifically to audition. I've only had one person audition for the childrens' roles, and only a few folks audition for the nun roles. Two gentlemen auditioned yesterday for Father Virgil, and they both have great voices. For Mother Superior, we had two lovely ladies who were both suited for that role.
I know that the Ojai Art Center extended performances of South Pacific were yesterday, so hopefully we'll see several more folks come on Sunday night. And I also have a few folks who were away this weekend who are interested in showing up on Monday evening.
Again, kids are the precious commodity at this point. If anyone reads this, we need kids to audition.

Auditions are/can be rough even from the production side. My first internship in High School was to be a Production Assistant (1 of 3) for an artistic director putting together community theatre. We made posters and hit every local hangout, local paper, trade papers, College Boards (and classes), we even hit churchs... we had a turn out of about 15 total for all parts (3 maybe).
Do you have a production team or are you working it mostly by yourself??
Nope, I've got a GREAT production team. I REALLY lucked out on this. Tom Eubanks has really set me up to succeed big time on this by getting the best folks possible involved. Thanks, Tom!
